In October 2019, a group of ten Christian believers rented the multipurpose room
at Govans Presbyterian Church in Towson, Maryland and began meeting together
on Sundays for Sunday School and Worship Service.

After only five months, the COVID-19 pandemic changed everything for the group. In March 2020, Govans Presbyterian Church closed its facility and forced the group, then called Baltimore Mission, to conduct Sunday School and Worship Services on the Zoom platform.

Like the rest of the world, we were uncertain of the effect the pandemic would have on the new mission. However, we experienced a significant increase in the average attendance at Sunday School and Worship Services. We also attracted and ministered to people who resided far beyond the Baltimore metropolitan area.

In August 2022, the Baltimore Mission was formally organized into a local church with eighteen members and named Baltimore Church of God of Prophecy.

The church conducts both hybrid and online services. Hybrid services are held on the First and Third Sundays at the Hampton Inn/Woodlawn at 1810 Belmont Avenue, Windsor Mill, Maryland.  Online services are available on the Zoom platform for all church services and meetings including Small Groups, Bible Study, Corporate Prayer, Youth Ministry, and Men’s Ministry.

We are a dynamic group of Christian believers, redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and delighted to grow together as part of the family of God in both our Hybrid and Online settings.

As one of our core values, Evangelism is an integral part of our ministry, and we endeavor to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ with people who are seeking to know Him in a personal way and experience real meaning in their lives.

Due to its geographic location within the United States, the Baltimore Church of God of Prophecy is part of the Mid-Altantic Region of the Church of God of Prophecy.
